Yesterday, SRA International, Inc. announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire MorganFranklin’s National Security Solutions business, a privately held consulting firm headquartered in the D.C. area.

“MorganFranklin has invested many years supporting our nation’s national security mission,” said MorganFranklin co-founder and President of National Security Solutions, Rob Franklin. “We are extremely proud of our national security focused employees for their commitment to the company and for their extraordinary service to our clients. The time is right. SRA is a great cultural fit. Transitioning employees will have tremendous opportunity for growth, and our national security customers will have immediate access to world-class capabilities.”

With the acquisition, SRA will obtain around 180 new employees with command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) expertise and capabilities, continuity of operations (COOP) expertise. The agreement includes current SRA customers, as well as strategically-valuable contract vehicles.

“The MorganFranklin National Security Solutions business is a great fit for SRA,” said Bill Ballhaus, President and CEO. “This team brings world-class capabilities in a number of technical and functional domains and a strong professional reputation for surpassing customer expectations that will result in strategic growth opportunities for SRA.”

The transition is expected to be complete by the end of the month. The majority of MorganFranklin employees work on client sites. Most MorganFranklin staff is located in the Greater Washington, D.C. area and Tampa, Florida.

“Our decision to divest is one that we took very seriously,” said MorganFranklin Chief Executive Officer and co-founder Robert Morgan. “SRA has the platform and maturity to help our employees reach their full potential, and they bring our national security clients immediate access to a wide range of proven solutions. They are a perfect fit. When it comes to aligning with strategic growth priorities, this is a win-win for everyone, MorganFranklin and SRA.”

SRA recently named Deb Alderson Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company.
